SALT LAKE CITY – April 16, 2010
The National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations (NALTO) has announced the appointment of Melissa Byington, vice president, CompHealth physician staffing group, to its board of directors.
“It’s an honor to be selected to work with NALTO. I’m excited to work on furthering the locum tenens industry and its high standards,” said Ms. Byington.
As a vice president for CompHealth, Ms. Byington leads both sales and support operations for the Salt Lake City-based locum tenens division. She is responsible for the direction and results of over 300 sales and support employees within the CompHealth Locum Tenens division. Ms. Byington started at CompHealth in 1997 as a recruiter and has since held numerous leadership positions.
Ms. Byington is a member of the NALTO Ethics Committee, and she serves on the executive council for the United Way Women’s Philanthropic Network in Salt Lake City, Utah. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.
Formed in 2001, NALTO primarily serves to educate the healthcare industry on the benefits of locum tenens staffing and to establish a set of service standards among locum tenens companies. The association also provides a system for sharing resources among member organizations, offers a formal dispute resolution process through an arbitration committee, and aids all members in cultivating market growth.
