Surfing and running a medical practice have more in common than you would naturally think. Like a bad wave, sometimes the worst happens regardless of what you do. The key is to press on and not give up.
Surfers need to understand not just the waves but the reef and where the waves are breaking. A good medical practice will also understand what is happening in its environment. Both also need continual improvement and practice as well as the need to watch out for sharks.
For surfers the sharks are…sharks, for a medical practice the sharks may be competitors, clients or others looking to take something away from the business.
At the end of the day the most important thing is getting in the water and not letting any anything keep you from what you are trying to achieve.
